Notes: The Château des Ducs de Savoie or Château de Chambéry is a former stronghold of the eleventh century, which stands on the town of Chambery in the Savoie region in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
Modified several times since the thirteenth century, it has retained ever since an administrative vocation. The castle chapel housed, from 1502 to 1578, the Shroud. In the bell tower, is now installed a large bell called "St. Francis de Sales' consisting of 70 bells, the work of the Paccard foundry in Sevrier. A concert is held the first and third Saturday of each month at 17: 30 pm.
The castle now houses the services of the Prefecture of Savoie, the General Council of Savoie and the Academy of Savoy.
As historic monuments: the ancient castle of the Dukes of Savoy been ranked by order of 10 August 1881, the large living room with a Louis XVI décor is subject to an order by ranking April 20, 1960.
