The castle is surrounded by a wooded park and in recent years the town has created a medieval garden. The construction date of the castle is unknown to us but its existence is mentioned for the first time in 1420. It was only in the eighteenth century the castle began to expand rapidly through Anselmet family. Eighteenth century are preserved kitchen, adjoining rooms and cellars.
With the marriage of Anne-Marie Jean-Baptiste Anselmet Charpin, the castle of Bruneaux came under the control of the Charpin family, large family in the Drill. It is this couple who will build the castle as we know it today in a Louis XVI style. In 1896 the castle changes in family again to move to the Chapelon family expropriated in 1967. Since the castle is owned by the town.
In the castle you can see parts of the eighteenth century, the castle regularly hosts temporary exhibitions.
