Notes: Château de Varey is an ancient castle, the twelfth century restored in the nineteenth century, the center of the manor of Varey, which stands in the municipality of Saint-Jean-le-Vieux in the department of Ain region Auvergne- Rhône-Alpes. The castle is the subject of a partial registration as a historic monument by decree of 21 March 1983. Only the facades and roofs are included.The twenty-first century, the castle looks like a large polygonal enclosure flankings circular.
