Notes: Château de Rochechinard is situated on the western foothills of the Vercors, in the Drôme Rochechinard occupies a narrow and steep rocky platform at 600 meters altitude.Rochechinard village consists of a few houses almost in the valley. This isolation does not promote tourism and the discovery of his castle. Since the small road down, the castle seems glued to the rock and its architecture is almost haphazard. But after walking in the forest, to the old entrance gate, very functional breakdown is obvious. Three blocks, each with a different date of construction and a well-assigned function. A home, away from the entrance, with kitchen, mullioned window, staircase tower and a view of the Vercors, An artillery tower "modern", near the entrance, with imposing gunboats. Finally, a central tower for close defense. Its medieval origin is obvious and its defense function is very strong, but this has really ruin curiosities to discover.
