Notes: Palais des ducs de Savoie of the Dukes of Savoy in Nice, currently known under the name Palace of the Prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes, Palace of the Kings of Sardinia and sarde palace, located in the old town, was from 1610 to 1860 a buildings devolved to the Dukes of Savoy, which for Victor Amadeus II were also kings of Sardinia. Located in Nice (Place Pierre-Gautier), it houses since 1860 the seat of the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture. It is registered and partially classified as historical monuments on September 1996.
Its main entrance is at the south-place Pierre Gautier, food market place.
We must not confuse the Palace of the Dukes of Savoy in Nice, the sovereign residence during his visits to the County of Nice, with the Chateau des Ducs de Savoie in Chambéry which was the seat of the court of Savoy and senior administration States of Savoy.
