Notes: Monastère fortifié de l'abbaye de Lérins is a building located in France in the town of Cannes in the Alpes-Maritimes department in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. It is built from the late eleventh century by the abbey of Lérins on the south coast of Saint-Honorat island in the bay of Cannes to protect the island, the monastery and its occupants. The building is the subject of a classification as historical monuments since 1840.It was around 400-410, which Honorat and Caprais, pulled on the island of Lérina, already mentioned by Pliny the Elder, with the agreement of the Bishop of Fréjus, Saint Léonce.
