Notes: The Musée Picasso occupies the Chateau des Grimaldi of Antibes. The castle is the subject of a classification as historical monuments since April 29, 1928. In 1946 Pablo Picasso is offered by Dor de la Souchère, the opportunity to install his workshop in the castle. In 1957, Picasso officially awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the city of Antibes." In 1966, Chateau Grimaldi became the Picasso Museum and Romuald Dor de la Souchère became its first curator. You can find about 245 works of the artist but also paintings of Nicolas de Stael, Fernand Leger or Hans Hartung, prints Paul Leuquet and sculptures by Germaine Richier and Joan Miró.
The Musée Picasso was closed for renovation in March 2006. It reopened since 20 July 2008.
