Notes: The castle of Peynier is a noble residence located in Peynier, in the heart of Provence. It was probably built at the end of the sixteenth century, and was largely restored in the eighteenth century. The Matheron families, Isoard de Chènerilles, d'Arbaud and Thomassin de Peynier were the owners of the estate under the ancien regime. It is now owned by the commune of Peynier and houses a private school.
