Notes: Tour Mélusine is the dungeon of an old castle, the town of Vouvant in Vendée. This watchtower is what remains of the ancient castle of the lords of Lusignan which is dated 1242.
Like all castles of Lusignan, the legend has it was built in one night by the fairy Melusine "dornées three stones and a mouthful of Eve."
It is a listed monument since 1927. The interior features two vaulted dome.
