Location: Joué-sur-Erdre, in the Loire-Atlantique departement of France (Pays de la Loire Region).
Built: 15th century.
Condition: In good condition.

Notes: Château de la Chauvelière of the town of Joué-sur-Erdre Loire-Atlantique. The main owners of the castle were: De La Rivière; the Crapado, friends of the Barons of Chateaubriand; Angier Lohéac allied with the Dukes of Retz; Goyon-Matignon Marce Marquis de La Chauvelière and Ponthus1, cousins of Fourché Quéhillac; Perrin La Courbejolière of Monaco; Richard La Rivière Abbaretz; Charette. In the castle and Ponthus are preserved several portraits including those of Crapado lady, a Goyon brigadier, a Saint-Julien (wife Goyon).
The castle was the seat of a high court whose manorial officials were the Mazureau L'Auvinière, allied to the Leconte Sagory the Lhotellier, Roussel, and Guibourd.
