It is since 1986 a high-end hotel. In 1766 Michel-Augustin-Joseph-Charles Clery Bécourt began the construction of his country house, symbol of his social ascent.
During the siege of Boulogne-sur-Mer by Napoleon General Berthier stayed in the castle. Le Chateau d'Hesdin l'Abbé was built in 1766 for Michael Clery Bécourt on a symmetrical plan with a stage and a roof but of the side pavilions were built after 1813.
The decor of the courtyard with its obelisk and its columns dating from 1783 has disappeared.
