Notes: Château de Bonrepos is located in France in the town of Bonrepos-Riquet (official designation of the town since 1921), in the department of Haute-Garonne and the region Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrenees. It was built by Pierre-Paul Riquet.Until the late sixteenth century, the town had the same name as his parish: Saint-Jean-de-Montagne, which depended on the barony of Verfeil. After the fire of the church by the Huguenots between 1570 and 1593, it is the name of the manor of Bonrepos right thing definitely.
Attracted by the site, Riquet Bonrepos chooses to study, in the open, thanks to the many sources and ditches the valley of Garene, the problems it water supply from its canal project, the channel Royal Languedoc, he decided in 1651 to settle there.
