Notes: Château de Chevry-en-Sereine is a castle (MH) built under Louis XIII by Charles Duret, Comptroller General of Finance and Secretary of the Order of the Holy Spirit. Built around 1633, brick and sandstone: rectangular main building flanked by two corner pavilions, courtyard, a moat, two stone bridges; French garden designed by Le Nôtre. It belongs to the Marquis of Laubespin, a direct descendant of the hero of the American Revolution.The castle, moat and courtyard are the subject of a classification as historical monuments since July 5, 1966. All the outbuildings, garden and orangery, subject to a registration as historical monuments since July 2, 1993.
