Castle Facts:
Location: Boyer, in the Saône-et-Loire departement of France (Bourgogne Region).
Built: 13th century.
Condition: Destroyed and rebuilt a new Chateau in 1862.
Ownership / Access: Private property and not open to visitors.
Notes: Venière Castle is located in the town of Boyer in Saône-et-Loire, on a terrace overlooking the Saône.Castle Venière consisted of pavilions of various heights, covered with pointed roofs and surrounded by gardens, where there is a beautiful avenue of lime trees and a well.The main body of the present castle, a rectangular plan, is flanked by two high towers half a floor, but lacking height floor. They are wearing high conical roofs. Strings in table boss emphasize the corners of the building and the central front building of a span that crown, between two balls armortissement, a carved window. The windows of the ground floor are equipped with railings. A horseshoe stone staircase above the central front building. In the dining room a neo-renaissance chimney was recovered from the old castle.The castle, private property can not be visited.
