Built: Old chateau: 9th century; New chateau in 1779.

Notes: Château de Thoiriat is located in the municipality of Creches-sur-Saone in Saône-et-Loire, the side of a slope overlooking the brook of Arlois.The castle consists of a rectangular main building covered with a hip roof and flanked at the ends of two wings slightly advanced bracket back on both fronts. In the center of each facade, a front part of a bay is crowned by a pediment, carved with a cartouche with the arms of Thy. The only other decorative element of this set is the austere stone balcony on consoles which gives the first floor, a French door. Among the common, fairly disparate, is a long building covered by a mansard roof with dormers to fins.The castle, private property can not be visited.
