Notes: Château de Montjeu is located in the municipality of Broye in Saone-et-Loire, in a park occupied by forest, ponds and gardens, the mountain that dominates Autun. The construction includes a framed main building with two wings at right angles flanked the corners of four square pavilions. Of paired stones mark the corners of buildings and window frames. A framed door bosses and surmounted by a broken pediment opens onto the courtyard in the center of the house.
Ditches around the castle and gunboats in pavilions on either side of the entrance are only to evoke elements of defense. In the south wing, the chapel is covered with wood paneling and decorated with paintings. In the North, common form an imposing around a courtyard, with gate, monumental trough and dovecote.
To the east front of the castle at the foot of the roundabout from which descend two lateral degrees, a shaft alley divides the flowerbeds and results in a round pool that overlooks a vast horizon of woods and mountains. Beds flower embroidery form compartments with basins, dominated on both sides by terraces planted with trees staggered. To the west, an audience with pool in the center, flanked by green rooms, form a garden closed by a gate.
This castle is the subject of a registration as a historic monument since 9 December 1929 and a ranking since 19 April 19581.
