Notes: Château de Bénouville, is a castle built by architect Claude Nicolas Ledoux between 1765 and 1785 at the request of the Marquis de Livry and his wife Teresa Good Gillain Bénouville at Bénouville in the Calvados (Basse-Normandie). The castle was home from 1986-2012 the regional chamber of Basse-Normandie accounts created in 1982. Since May 2013, it is the seat of the European Institute of gardens and paysages3, dedicated to preserving the memory of the gardens, the development of knowledge and promotion of the art of gardening.
Bénouville Castle hosts lunch of Heads of State and Government at the commemorations of the 70th anniversary of the castle DCE is now part of the works of the best preserved Ledoux. It's monumental staircase and its amazing architecture of modernity at the time made him one of the major monuments of the late eighteenth century and a reference for lovers of neoclassicism. ébarquement ally, 6 June 2014.
