Castle Facts:
Location: Polminhac, in the Cantal departement of France (Aquitaine Region).
Built: 17th century.
Condition: In good condition.
Ownership / Access: Private property.
Notes: The castle of Clavières is located in Polminhac in the Cantal, on a height overlooking the valley of the Cere, opposite the castle of Pesteils.
In the Cantal there are two other castles of the same name with which it should not be confused: the castle of Clavières-Ayrens and that of Velzic. This castle includes a rectangular building in a pavilion of nine regular spans and two square floors under a broken roof pierced with as many dormers, with in its middle a round tower forming a rotunda.
Its architecture is inspired by that of the building of the prefecture of Aurillac built between 1800 and 1806 by the engineer Demets.
It has a remarkable park.
