Notes: Château de Carlat, seat of the Viscount of Carladès was a castle on the eponymous town in the Cantal department. Located on the plateau and surrounded by steep ravines, the castle has more double enclosure with powerful towers. Inside the church, the Poor Clares convent, barracks, stables, the hotel of the governor and the palace called "Bridoré" where Marguerite de Valois had established his residence and the Commandery of Malta, the largest Commandery Language in the Auvergne. The visit is free.
