Notes: Château de Richemont is located on the heights of the town of Saint-Crépin-de-Richemont in the French Dordogne. This is private property, registered historical monuments since 1927, open to the public between mid-July and late August (all year by appointment). It was built from 1564 by Pierre Bourdeille, better known by the pen name of Brantôme. Its construction is completed around 1610, some years before the death of Brantôme in the castle on 5 July 1614, in the chapel where he is buried. The castle that visitors can see today has kept the identity that has given him Brantôme.
