Notes: Château de Garro (in Basque Garro Jauregia) is one of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques castle in Mendionde. At the death of the last Lord (1923), the castle was owned by Mr. LESCA who bequeathed it to the city of Bayonne. In 1995 it became the property of the town of Mendionde. It housed successively the first agricultural school in the Basque country (now Lycée Armand David in Hasparren), a cheese-making unit, a summer camp and a place of catechism. Today it houses a sculptor's studio and is the setting for cultural events.
