Location: Bidart, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques departement of France (Aquitaine Region).
Built: 1895-1897.
Condition: Ruined.

Notes: The Château d'Ilbarritz is located north of the town of Bidart in the Pyrenees-Atlantiques, on top of the hill Handia. The castle is located on the hill of Handia, overlooking the ocean. The baron had imposed the architect Gustave Huguenin for tender as "the backbone of the whole is indestructible and forms a protective shackles to Cavaillé-Coll", the house is built with the finest materials, marble and noble woods. The roof is made completely integral with the rest of the building by an iron pillar system sealed facades by cross. The castle was sold in July 2014 in the French businessman and entrepreneur Bruno Ledoux, reference shareholder of the newspaper Liberation, to realize a public place with the assistance of famous designer Ora-Ito.
