Location: Dambach, in the Bas-Rhin departement of France (Alsace Region).
Built: 13th century.

Notes: Chateau de Wittschloessel is on the Wittberg, in the municipality of Dambach, in the department of Bas-Rhin.Built in the eighteenth century, the castle is closer to a watchtower overlooking the valley of Obersteinbach. It was to be a fort filling safety Castle Schœneck.
Mentioned only in 1657 in connection with a description of lordship limit, the castle was a possession of Lichtenberg then Eckbrecht of Durckheim.
Destroyed in 1677, probably by the French, the history of this castle, the castle of Schœneck related, is little known.
